Labor Day Weekend!

4th of July '09 - After being in the sun all day - typical patriotic holiday for this group

 Long weekends are always nice. Although I usually celebrate these patriotic holidays by getting black-out drunk in the middle of the day (and red as a lobster), I plan to not be quite so reckless this time around. However, I am totally pumped about hanging with old friend Lisa tonight (and maybe getting a little reckless). May even make it to New World Brewery in Ybor to catch Guiltmaker. I've never heard of them, but checked them out. It seems like their music will be decent live, and they are pretty cute. ; ) (creepy wink). Not to mention, I have really been wanting to check out that venue.

Other than that, on Saturday night I will be getting in touch with my cultural/artsy/hipster side, attending an art show of a friend from high school - "Smoke Asthma" at the Emerald. I absolutely love it when I see people I know doing things like this. There is nothing cooler than people expressing their creativity and sharing it with friends, family, strangers, what-have-you. Are local arts seen is really blowing up, which is pretty awesome.

Sunday will consist of hopefully a bike ride, maybe some cooking out, followed up by a block party in downtown St. Pete, hosted by Durty Nelly's featuring bands Unmotivated, The Josh Magwood Band, The Supervillains (love them and love them live!) and Less Than Jake. Considering that I have somehow never seen LTJ in live, I am totally pumped. I'm just hoping I actually make it.
